Feeling a little adventure? Join the Gourmet Safari and visit 6 of Kuala Lumpur’s Best Eateries in 1 Night!

Well if you visited Changkat Bukit Bintang, you will be amazed with their restaurants and bars. This of course, includes six F&B concepts under The Werner’s Group:

– Opium KL

– Dining In The Dark KL

– El Cerdo

– Black Forest

– The Steakhouse KL

– The Whisky Bar KL

They are all conveniently located few steps from each other.

So what is Gourmet Safari  all about? The idea of the Gourmet Safari is to let diners enjoy gourmet food and precious wine, whiskies and cocktails at all six establishments. More importantly, customers are able to celebrate the intimacy of socialising at the dinner table – something most of us forget to do!  Groups of people from all walks of life come together; spending an entire evening really builds camaraderie. This also gives the opportunity to restaurant + bar hop without having to go through KL’s legendary traffic. This is definitely one of a kind experience you can only find in KL.

During the guided tour, you get to enjoy a fantastic multi-course, progressive dinner with Wine Pairing where each delicious course is provided by one of the different themed Restaurants.

Definitely for adventurous foodie lovers out there, wanting to try an array of food and explore different restaurants at the same time.

@ Dining In The Dark

Dining In The Dark KL is the very first of its kind in Malaysia for your unique and memorable dining experience.

This was my first time dining in the dark and it was really legit no light at all in the dinning area. You are not allowed to bring anything that have light which include your smartphone. They provides lockers service for you to store your valuables. The food served in the dark was delicious with great variety, paired with great wine. I was quite curious how did the waiters served us in the complete darkness room, then I found out they are actually blind waiters. They are extremely professional, gentle and friendly.

Take note when dining here, you are advise not to go in shorts, singlets and slippers, athletic wear as well as caps and hoodies as they’re not suitable for the dining area. This is a great place for team bonding. Because there is only two things you need to focus- eat and listen to what your friends are saying. No handphone distraction anymore…

Address: 50A Changkat Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

They are also famous for their Roasted Suckling Pig which I have yet to try.

This authentic German food restaurant / hang-out is almost a hidden treasure among the crowded restaurants and music-blasting clubs or bars in Changkat Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

9) Sino Scene Chinese Restaurant

Sino Scene Chinese Restaurant is located at Level 6, Swiss-Garden Residences Kuala Lumpur. The restaurant offers an infusion of modern and classic Hong Kong and Szechuan cuisine menu.

Some of must-try dishes will be the Szechuan Bird’s Nest with Crab Meat Soup, Stir-fried Butter Prawn with Grated Coconut and the Peking Duck.

Address: Swiss-Garden Hotel & Residences Kuala Lumpur, 117, Jalan Pudu, 55100 Kuala

10) Nasi Kandar Pelita

It’s true that Kuala Lumpur has some of the best Nasi Kandar to dig into. Nasi kandar is a popular northern Malaysian dish, which originates from Penang. It is a meal of steamed rice which can be plain or mildly flavoured, and served with a variety of curries and side dishes.

Check with the local and they will definitely recommend you to try out at Nasi Kandar Pelita. They are currently the largest nasikandar restaurant chain in the city and a real KL favourite. The restaurant opens 24 hours and serves typical mamak (Indian Muslim) food – like nasikandar and roti canai (Indian flatbread) and more.

My favourite side dishes when having Nasi Kandar would be the salt-and-pepper squid and the stir-fried cabbage.

The restaurant is within walking distance from KLCC, so if you are looking for good food with a low budget and a Malaysian mamak experience, this is the place to check out.

Address: No. 149, Jalan Ampang, 50450 Kuala Lumpur.
