A Stay at the Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur Restyled Rooms

If you are looking for some sumptuous accommodations, right in the heart of the city, you should consider the Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

It is strategically located at the corner of Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Ampang, right opposite MaTiC, and if you can just get amazing views overlooking one of the world’s tallest buildings – the Petronas Twin Towers and the majestic Menara Kuala Lumpur. I have to say the 5-star luxury Renaissance hotel is just perfect for both business and leisure travellers.

Just after you check in, you will be given a nice glass of refreshing cincau/ grass jelly drink as a welcome drink. The guest service officer who attended to me then showed me the way to the West Wing lobby and gave detailed directions on how I could get to my room, which was one of the newly restyled West Wing guest rooms.

The room I was given was a Deluxe room with a king bed, and a semi circular sofa. The room was definitely cheery with a fresh and contemporary design – sophisticated, tasteful and sleek, reflecting the key personalities of a Renaissance Discoverer who celebrates all things that contribute to living a life less ordinary.

The room is also certainly very spacious, and came with luxury amenities any savvy urban traveler would appreciate. Taking on a neutral colour palette, the ergonomically designed room is fitted with re-engineered wood flooring, a day bed as an extra bed and the luxurious Marriott’s Plush Bedding with topper and rich linen.
The bathroom comes installed with 4 bay bathroom fixtures with rain shower and came with some luxury ‘Tokyomilk’ by Margot Elena toiletries and amenities and yes, a bath.
You can watch Fox Movies, Nickelodeon, TLC etc over a Samsung 48” full HD Smart TV and connect on the complimentary Internet while snacking on the chocolate confectionery and welcome platter Renaissance Hotel had awaiting inside the room.
The room door was equipped with the high tech radio frequency IC door lock system (RFID) where you just need to touch your card to the door and it opens… and you can see the IP camera security system around in the corridors for safety purposes.

On the other hand if you are traveling alone or on business, you might like to consider one of the LifeStyle rooms on the upper floors in the East Wing which was contemporary in design, and comes furnished with plush bedding as well as a day bed. It is slightly smaller than the West Wing but the exquisite interior is still very welcoming and warm. It comes with some extravagant touches and up to date conveniences coupled with high speed technology make it complete for the business travelers to conduct their work.
If you choose to stay at the LifeStyle room, you can also make use of the two storey LifeStyle lounge for some refreshments and snacks and enjoy the magnificent KL city centre skyline or just to unwind with the latest newspapers and magazines.

If you check in on a Friday, there is a little cocktail treat in the lobby for guests to indulge in as well at around 6.30pm. Little treats like cream puffs, club sandwiches, cupcakes and some hor d’oeuvres were served as well as some blue mocktail.

Gym bunnies or fitness enthusiasts will definitely be impressed with the fitness centre here at the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur as well. It is huge at 1,300 m2 and as well equipped as any of those fancy schmancy gyms you pay a lot for and the fitness centre here is opened 24/7 enabling you to work out whenever you want.
The locker rooms here come with sauna, steam rooms and Jacuzzi as well. There is also a couple of tennis courts you can make use of if you feel like it and for those of you working around Kuala Lumpur city centre and looking for a gym to join, this might be a good place to join as it comes with free parking. You can also use one of the nicest and largest hotel pools in Kuala Lumpur where you can catch some sun rays. Do check out the rates, they are among the most valued for money fitness centre around KL.

You can have a lovely dinner at TEMPTationS where its striking and colourful décor was definitely eye catching, yet pleasing and where authentic Asian and International fare served at the buffet line tempts you.

Breakfast is also a pretty elaborate affair at TEMPTationS with continental, local delights from Nasi Lemak, Dim Sum, Congee, Beef Brisket, Sausages, Smoked Salmon, Turkey slices, Chicken slices, Honeycomb, pastries, and a whole lots more. You can also request for your eggs cooked any style you want. There is also selections of yogurt and bottled cold pressed juices.
Overall I have totally no complaints about my stay here.  The staff are very friendly and they make you feel comfortable and the amenities are all luxurious.

The current renovation, which is the hotel’s largest to date, is taking place in three phases with the first phase is ready in the third quarter of 2016. There will be some noises between about 10am to 6pm, but trust, me it is not that obvious or annoying as it is pretty much muted. The hotel has undergone significant refurbishments in the past, but Renaissance Kuala Lumpur believes in keeping up to the current trends to ensure appealing to their guests.

How to get there:

Take the monorail to KL Monorail Bukit Nanas Station about 0.1 miles away, or LRT to Kelana Jaya Line – Dang Wangi 0.2 miles away, or alternatively, you can walk or just take one of those Go KL buses from KLCC/ Petronas Twin Towers to MaTiC and cross the road. Renaissance Hotel is opposite MaTiC.

So, for a great hotel staycation for the family, a little break from the norm, or if you happen to be in Kuala Lumpur and in search for a luxurious and memorable hotel stay where you will be pampered, the Renaissance Kuala Lumpur should be your choice.
